No matter how you celebrate this season, or if not, have a good one!
If you're one of many that usually celebrate Christmas, but are struggling to feel festive this year, remember that that's okay!
This time of year can add a lot of unnecessary pressure. You may feel the need to arrange to see everyone, including those you haven't seen for a long time. You may feel the need to get Christmas cards and presents out in the post in time. You may feel you need to organise gatherings at your house, and plan the main meal. The list can go on. And this is all on top of your everyday life living.
With the cost of living crisis this year, and strikes happening across the nation, this adds to further pressures. The cold snap in the weather has brought about sad but true stories about people who can't afford to have the heating on. As much as we want to enjoy the festive season, it can seem futile. So you just need to do whatever you need to do, for you and for your loved ones. Your loved ones will understand your situation and no judgement will be placed. If anything, Christmas is a time for us all to look out for each other. Help out where ever you can.
However you choose to celebrate this time of year, make sure you're doing it because you want to. Choose to spend time however you wish, perhaps with your loved ones and not get sucked into the commercialism of it all. If you rather be alone during this time, make that be known too. Enjoy your time, it's for you!
