TAUKO MAGAZINE ISSUE NO. 13
October 22 release
When you don't have time to curl up with a good book, pick up a warming magazine instead; October 22 is launch day for TAUKO magazine issue no. 13!
Issue No. 13 focuses on Empathy.
Not only does TAUKO magazine contain designs and sewing patterns for the sewist, the magazine always comes packed with articles delving into current topics related to climate, culture and community in the world of sewing.
In issue no. 13, the feature article is written by Elizabeth McLellan, a Montreal-based creative with a background in critical theory. The article, titled: "Material Empathy: How Craft Shapes Culture and Transforms Politics" discusses the complexity of the relationship between our culture and materiality.
Adding an expressive layer to the piece, the article is accompanied by beautiful illustrations by Pauline Pete, a Hamburg-based artist inspired by pattern and structure.
Other articles in the magazine include:
- Breaking Stereotypes with Embroidery. Words and photography by Naushin Kaipally
