Denim fabric originated during the gold rush in 1873 as a sturdy workwear fabric. The fabric is created by a twill weave structure giving it is sturdiness and durability, which softens with wash and wear. Though traditionally woven with a coloured warp yarn on the front and a white weft yarn on the back, there now many variations of denim although officially, denim is fabric dyed with indigo dyes.
