In the No.1 issue of the TAUKO magazine, you will find chapters that highlight makers as artists, revolutionaries and designers. We enter “The Age of the Makers” with essays and columns by Orsola de Castro, Sonya Philip and Wambui Njuguna-Räisänen. Experts from different professions in the field of fashion and textile share their experience and ponder the question “Could makers revolutionise the fashion industry?”. Within the pages we come to realise how important it is to find and appreciate the individual handprint of a maker. With a turn towards makerism, we hope to hear the maker’s voice as a revolution to build a healing relation with the planet.

In the launching issue of the TAUKO magazine, you will find 12 designs by international designers with step by step sewing guidelines and actual size paper patterns. The detailed guidelines inspire makers of all levels to start their new sewing project.

All patterns come in 9 sizes from bust width 31” / 78cm to 57.5” / 146cm.

SEWING PATTERN DESIGNERS:
Ivona Fodora, Minna Konttijärvi, Mila Moisio, Johanna Morris, Casey Sibley, Evelyn Sitter, Marie Stamm, Miriam Strotkötter, Kaisa Rissanen.

ERRATA (Last updated 28.03.2022)

  • When starting your sewing project, please note that the size key on the side of the pattern sheet shows some of the lines indicating size incorrectly. The correct size line keys are as the image shows.
  • NAOMI: the instructions on page 121 list the back piece incorrectly on pattern sheet A but it's actually on C.
  • MYA: Page 117: the instructions state incorrectly “Align the fly facing with the right front piece” the correct instruction is: “Align the fly facing with the left front piece”

If you have any questions regarding the patterns, please don’t hesitate to contact: magazine@taukodesign.fi
