From Maison Fauve's essential collection; the SAILOR dungarees.
Sailor could have been called overalls instead of dungarees: a worked and not too wide cut, a nice buttoning on the front, knots on the shoulders that nicely highlight the lining and a zip on the side to put it on easily. But it is the DNA of the overalls that Maison Fauve wanted to transcribe: a front bib, straps and a very characteristic back.
Two variations:
- straight pants that emphasise the hips without moulding them and flare slightly with a nice width and ankle length
- a short version, neither too short nor too long, with a pleat in front to bring a little fullness and a hem that gives it character.
And in both cases Italian pockets: very practical, easy to assemble and for a result less casual than patch pockets.
ERRATA: the pieces 9 and 10 have been reversed on the board, in fact it should be 9=pocket bottom and 10=pocket bag.
SEWING LEVEL:
Intermediate.
CHOICE OF FABRIC:
Thick cotton, Tencel Twill, cotton satin, denim, velvet, light wool, tweed...the bust is lined and the lining will be visible on the straps, enough to give free rein to your ideas! The front buttoning is decorative and remains optional, you can choose to fasten your front cross pieces together with invisible snaps or even sew them together with an invisible stitch or topstitch.
SUPPLIES REQUIRED:
-
Fabric for a width of 140 cm:
- for dungarees 1m80 from 34 to 38, and 2m from 40 to 46
- for the 1m45 short overalls from 34 to 46
- for the lining in the 2 versions 75 cm of fabric
- 5 buttons about 12 mm in diameter and a 23 cm invisible zip
- Iron-on interfacing
SEWING MARGINS OF 1CM INCLUDED
