RESPONSIBLE, MINDFUL, ECO-FRIENDLY FABRICS FOR THE MODERN MAKER
For the home sewist, we've picked out the more sustainable options ready for you. No more feeling disappointed when you find a pretty print fabric, only to discover it's made entirely of Polyester!
OUR FABRICS ARE PRICED AT 1/2 METRES (50CM)
At A KIND CLOTH, we aim towards zero-waste. Buying in 1/2 metre increments allows for less wastage than buying at 1 metre increments when you know how much fabric you need for your project.
Pieces will be cut in one continuous length.

Juno Culottes Sewing Pattern
The Juno Sewing Pattern from Merchant & Mills, is a pair of culotte trousers featuring a fly front, front pleats, in-seam pockets and elasticated back waistband.
Juno is the perfect year-round trouser pattern. Make in a more structured, mid-weight cloth for a strong silhouette, or a lighter weight for a loose and satisfyingly swishy fit.
Sizes: 6-18 OR 18-28
Level: Intermediate
Fabric: Mid-weight woven fabrics. Cotton twill, and canvas are great options. Lighter weight cloths like linen and Tencel/linen will give a softer silhouette.

About sustainable fabrics and fibres
WHAT MAKES A FABRIC 'SUSTAINABLE'?
At A KIND CLOTH, we realise it is incredibly difficult to determine what makes a fabric 'sustainable'. We know there is no such thing as a 'perfect' fabric, so how do we determine what makes one fabric more sustainable than another?
ORGANIC COTTON
Cotton is a natural fibre, therefore biodegradable, and so should be classed as sustainable right? Well, not really! But organic cotton...
IS VISCOSE SUSTAINABLE?
Lenzing™ EcoVero™ fibres certified eco-responsible: ...a high recovery rate for Process chemicals, and the fibres are fully biodegradable. Under the right conditions, EcoVero can decompose in just 3 months, compared with Polyester which takes 200 years!
FABRICS AND FIBRES
COTTON KHADI, HEMP, LINEN, ORGANIC COTTON, ECOVERO VISCOSE, TENCEL FIBRES are known to be sustainable and eco-friendly.
